“The finest Backgammon board I have had the pleasure of playing”
An Andrew Pinkus backgammon set is a joy to behold and pleasure to play. It is the epitome of luxury for any Backgammon player, reflected in the detail and fine finishing. Each board is unique, being individually handcrafted and requiring over 40 hours of skilled labour to ensure that it is perfect in all aspects.
Andrew is meticulous to the point of obsession, with every detail carefully considered to enrich the game players experience. Tactile, luxurious and refined, an Andrew Pinkus backgammon board will provide a lifetime of pleasure.
Andrew’s cabinet making and carpentry experience ensures that the box set is made with absolute precision from a specially selected combination of woods, resulting in a strong, stable and warp-resistant construction.
Andrew Pinkus boards are expertly covered with handpicked luxury calfskin leathers from a highly regarded specialist tannery in Northamptonshire.
Striving for perfection means going beyond the aesthetics, which is why equal consideration is given to the feel of the individual playing pieces.
The 30 perfectly weighted 1.5” diameter checkers are covered in leather from the same calfskin used for the game board, and finished with a finely finished Nickel cuff. The shaker/cup is crafted with the same precise art of pairing leather as the board, giving seamless joints.
Also included is four precision-made ball-cornered dice to provide a perfect balanced roll, in the discerning players favoured size of 14.5mm.
THE FINISHING TOUCHES
The locks and handle bars are made from solid brass and nickel plated for strength and longevity, with the handles finished in leather and hand stitched with a waxed thread, sourced from Hewits in Scotland.
